New pneumonia vaccine for infants enters final testing phase

Summary
This study tests a new vaccine (PCV13i) to protect healthy infants from pneumococcal infections, which can cause pneumonia and meningitis. About 600 babies in Thailand will receive either the new vaccine or an existing one. Researchers will check if the new vaccine triggers a strong immune response and is safe, with follow-up after each dose.
