New pill tested to halt growth of rare, aggressive tumors
NCT ID NCT01876082
Summary
This study tested whether a daily pill called pazopanib could control the growth of progressive desmoid tumors, which are aggressive non-cancerous growths. It compared the pill against a standard chemotherapy combination (methotrexate and vinblastine) in 72 adults whose tumors were growing and causing symptoms. The main goal was to see which treatment kept patients alive and their tumors from growing for at least six months.
