Can kindness boost testing? new study explores pay-it-forward for STI checks
NCT ID NCT05723263
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested whether a pay-it-forward program—where one person's donation helps cover testing costs for others—can encourage more men in China to get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia. About 1,200 men who had sex in the past year but hadn't been tested recently took part. The goal was to see if this approach leads to higher testing rates compared to standard methods.
