Summary
This study tests whether a team of specialists working together can improve care for frail Veterans before elective surgery. About 35,000 Veterans at three VA hospitals will be randomly assigned to either usual care or a special team meeting (PAUSE Board) that creates a personalized care plan. The main goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of death within 180 days after surgery.
