First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests a mobile app that gives people with diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease simple guidance on when to temporarily stop certain medications during illnesses like the flu or stomach bug. The goal is to prevent serious complications such as low blood sugar or kidney injury. About 320 adults from 16 pharmacies in Alberta will take part, with half using the app plus a handout, and half receiving only the handout. Researchers will measure how well people follow the guidance and how easy the app is to use.
