First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests a drug called patiromer in 40 adults on dialysis who must limit potassium-rich foods like bananas and potatoes. The goal is to see if patiromer can safely allow patients to relax their strict low-potassium diet, improving their quality of life and nutrition. Participants will take either patiromer or a placebo, and researchers will monitor potassium levels and dietary freedom.
