Custom jaw plates could make fracture surgery more precise

NCT ID NCT07231042

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether custom-made titanium plates, designed using 3D computer modeling, improve surgery for a broken jaw (mandibular angle fracture). Ten adults received the personalized plates, and researchers measured how well the bone healed, pain, swelling, and mouth opening. The goal was to see if these custom plates lead to better results than standard one-size-fits-all plates.
