New hospital program aims to guide opioid patients to treatment, cut readmissions

Summary
This study is testing a patient navigation program called NavSTAR across several Philadelphia hospitals. The program provides support to help adults with opioid use disorder start medication treatment and navigate care after they leave the hospital. Researchers want to see if this approach can be successfully implemented on a large scale to help more people get treatment and reduce return trips to the hospital.
