First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat persistent air leaks (PALs) in the lungs, a condition that can keep people in the hospital for a long time. About 20 adults who cannot have surgery will get a combination of a blood patch and a tiny valve placed in the airway during a scope procedure. The goal is to see if this approach safely stops the leak faster and helps people leave the hospital sooner.
