Shorter radiation treatment tested for early breast cancer

NCT ID NCT03583619

Summary

This study compared two radiation approaches for early-stage breast cancer patients who had breast-conserving surgery. Researchers tested whether a shorter, more targeted radiation treatment (partial breast) caused fewer side effects than the standard whole breast radiation. The trial involved 140 low-risk patients and measured side effects, cancer recurrence, and quality of life.
