New Parkinson's treatment aims to tame medication side effects

NCT ID NCT07151378

Summary

This study is testing if a therapy called Lecigon, delivered directly to the intestines, is better than standard oral medications at managing the neuropsychiatric side effects that can occur with Parkinson's disease treatment. It will involve 150 adults with Parkinson's who experience these specific medication-related symptoms. Researchers will compare Lecigon to the current best medical treatment over six months to see which one better controls symptoms like impulsivity, mood swings, and compulsive behaviors.
