Scientists test Lab-Grown brain cells to fight Parkinson's

NCT ID NCT06753331

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether implanting lab-grown dopamine-producing cells into the brain is safe and can help control Parkinson's disease symptoms. It will involve about 25 patients with moderate Parkinson's who haven't responded well to standard medications. Some participants will receive the actual cell implant while others undergo a sham surgery for comparison, with researchers tracking safety and symptom changes over two years.
