New treadmill training aims to steady steps for Parkinson's patients

NCT ID NCT05131880

Summary

This study tested whether adding a special treadmill walking program to standard physical therapy could improve mobility and reduce fall risk in people with Parkinson's disease. Fifty-two participants with mild to moderate Parkinson's were randomly assigned to receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus the treadmill program. Researchers measured walking speed, balance, and daily function before, immediately after, and 12 weeks after the training ended.
