Memory patch could halve dangerous falls for Parkinson's patients

Summary

This large UK trial tested whether a drug patch normally used for memory problems could prevent falls in people with Parkinson's disease. 600 participants who had experienced a fall in the past year were randomly assigned to wear either the real drug patch or a dummy patch for 12 months, recording any falls in a diary. The goal was to see if this existing treatment could tackle one of the most disabling and common complications of Parkinson's.
