Could a common pill slow Parkinson's before symptoms appear?

NCT ID NCT04386317

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called terazosin, already approved for blood pressure and prostate issues, can slow the progression of Parkinson's disease in people at high risk. Researchers are enrolling 15 participants who have a sleep disorder linked to Parkinson's and abnormal heart nerve scans. They will take the drug for 26 weeks to see if it improves their heart scan results, which might indicate the treatment is protecting nerves.
