New pill tested to slow Parkinson's progression

NCT ID NCT05424276

Summary

This study tested a new daily pill called IkT-148009 in people recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who were not yet taking other Parkinson's medications. Over 12 weeks, researchers compared three different doses of the drug to a placebo (a pill with no medicine) to see if it was safe and if it could help with movement problems and other symptoms. The main goal was to check for side effects, but they also looked to see if the drug improved patients' ability to move and perform daily activities.
