Old drug, new hope? repurposed medication enters Parkinson's trial

NCT ID NCT05931575

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called fasudil, already used for other conditions in Japan since 1995, is safe and can help control symptoms in people with early Parkinson's disease. It will involve 75 participants at up to 15 centers in Germany who will take the drug or a placebo for three weeks. The main goals are to check for side effects and see if it improves movement, daily activities, and quality of life for people with Parkinson's.
