Ultrasound reveals hidden breathing weakness in Parkinson's

NCT ID NCT07308795

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study uses ultrasound to measure the thickness of belly and side breathing muscles in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to see if thinner muscles are linked to more severe disease and weaker exhale strength. About 36 adults with mild to moderate Parkinson's will take part. The goal is to better understand how Parkinson's affects breathing, not to test a new treatment.
