First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a custom foot wedge to balance exercises can improve walking and reduce falls in people with Parkinson's disease. Thirty participants aged 45-75 with moderate Parkinson's will be split into two groups: one gets standard physical therapy, the other adds wedge-based training on a special machine. Over 8 weeks, researchers will measure balance, walking ability, and muscle activity to see if the new approach works better.
