Summary

This study tested whether digital tools and mobile cash payments can help parents in Tanzania give their children a stronger start in life. Over 3,500 pregnant women were split into groups: some received parenting support via community health workers using a phone app, some got unconditional cash transfers, some got both, and some got neither. The goal was to see if these approaches improve children's thinking, language, and nutrition by age 15 months. Results will guide policies for scalable early childhood programs in low-resource settings.
