First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether transferring a parent's healthy nasal bacteria to their newborn can help prevent the baby from carrying staph germs. The trial involves 34 infants in the NICU and their parents. Researchers will check if the baby's nose bacteria become more diverse and resistant to staph after the transplant.
