First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early study tests whether giving a newborn a small dose of their parent's healthy nasal bacteria can help prevent staph infections. The trial involves 34 infants in the NICU and their parents. Researchers will check if the baby's nose bacteria become more diverse and resistant to staph after the transplant.
