Donor tissue transplant could free patients from daily hormone shots

Summary
This early-stage study is testing if transplanting parathyroid tissue from a deceased donor into a patient's forearm can help the body regulate its own calcium levels. The goal is to reduce or eliminate the need for daily calcium pills and hormone injections in people with hypoparathyroidism. This is one of the first times this procedure is being tried in humans.
