First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests if a special numbing injection (parasternal plane block) can better control pain during heart surgery in children aged 6 months to 7 years. Sixty children will be randomly assigned to receive either the block plus standard care or standard care alone. The goal is to see if the block reduces pain signals and the need for strong pain medicines during and after surgery.
