Liver surgery patients monitored for painkiller safety

NCT ID NCT03297073

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the body processes the common pain medication paracetamol (acetaminophen) after major liver surgery. Researchers followed 90 patients who had liver operations, measuring drug levels in their blood for five days after surgery. The goal was to learn if standard painkiller doses are safe for people with reduced liver function after surgery.
