Weight matters: new study checks drug dosing in children

NCT ID NCT07585487

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how two common medicines, paracetamol (a painkiller) and cefazolin (an antibiotic), move through the bodies of children aged 2 to 15 years. Researchers want to see if normal-weight and overweight children process these drugs differently. About 120 kids having minor surgery will give blood and tissue samples to help doctors find the best doses for each weight group.
