Blood gas ratio may reveal ICU survival odds
NCT ID NCT07301359
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study analyzed data from 1,776 adult ICU patients to see if the ratio of oxygen to carbon dioxide in the blood (PaO2/PaCO2) is linked to death in the ICU, independent of other factors like oxygen levels and blood pressure. Researchers used the MIMIC-II database to examine this relationship. The goal was to better understand how this simple test might help identify high-risk patients.
