Rare complication: doctors investigate link between Clot-Busting procedure and pancreatitis

NCT ID NCT07450898

Summary

This study aims to understand a rare but serious complication where patients develop acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) after a procedure to remove blood clots. Researchers will look back at medical records to see how often this happens, identify which patients or procedure details might increase the risk, and create better guidelines for diagnosis and care. The goal is to improve the safety of this common clot-removal treatment.
