Simple sugary drink could ease pancreatitis pain and get patients home sooner

NCT ID NCT07375186

Summary

This study is testing if starting with a simple sugary drink is better than starting with clear liquids (like broth or juice) for patients recovering from acute pancreatitis. Researchers want to see if the sugary drink causes less stomach pain and helps patients leave the hospital faster. About 276 adults with mild to moderate pancreatitis in Pakistan will try one of the two feeding plans.
