New blood test could help pancreatitis patients get proper treatment sooner
NCT ID NCT07418593
Summary
This study is testing a new blood test designed to spot a common but hard-to-detect problem in people with chronic or recurrent pancreatitis: the inability to properly absorb nutrients from food. Researchers will enroll 80 patients to see if the test can identify those who might benefit from taking supplemental digestive enzymes. A smaller group of those patients will then try the enzyme treatment for 8 weeks to see if it improves their quality of life and symptoms.
