Medical glue could seal dangerous leaks after complex cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07230509

Summary

This study is testing whether a special surgical glue can help prevent dangerous fluid leaks after surgery to remove pancreatic or periampullary cancer. About 90 patients having this major operation will be randomly assigned to receive either the glue injection or standard care. The main goal is to see if the glue reduces the rate of these postoperative leaks, which can lead to serious complications and longer hospital stays.
