Needle-Delivered chemo aims to zap pancreatic cysts, prevent cancer
NCT ID NCT03085004
Summary
This study tested a procedure to destroy precancerous cysts in the pancreas before they could turn into cancer. Doctors used a thin needle guided by ultrasound to inject a chemotherapy mix directly into the cysts. The main goal was to see if washing the cyst with alcohol before the chemo was necessary, or if using a saltwater wash worked just as well with fewer side effects.
