Scientists search for genetic clues behind Cancer-Related weight loss
NCT ID NCT05275075
Summary
This study aims to understand why pancreatic cancer patients experience severe weight loss and muscle wasting (called cachexia). Researchers will examine tumor tissue from 100 patients undergoing surgery to identify genetic differences that might explain this condition. The study also investigates whether African American patients experience this weight loss more frequently than other racial groups.
