Zapping tumors and boosting immunity: new hope for tough pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT03080974

Summary

This study is testing a two-part treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. First, doctors use a procedure called irreversible electroporation, which uses electrical pulses to destroy the tumor. After that, patients receive an immunotherapy drug called nivolumab, which aims to help the body's immune system fight any remaining cancer cells. The main goals are to see if this combination is safe and if it can help patients live longer without their cancer getting worse.
