New implant tested to shrink tough pancreatic tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT06673017

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new implant called PTM-101, which is placed near the pancreas to deliver chemotherapy directly to the tumor. The goal is to see if this approach, combined with standard pre-surgery chemo, is safe and can shrink tumors in people with borderline or locally advanced pancreatic cancer. The study will first find a safe dose and then see how well it works for 26 participants who have not had any prior cancer treatment.
