New scope technique spots hidden pancreatic cancer spread

NCT ID NCT04899739

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether a more detailed endoscopic ultrasound could find cancer that has spread to lymph nodes in people with pancreatic cancer. 33 patients scheduled for surgery had an extended scope exam to check lymph nodes far from the main tumor. The goal was to see if this method could correctly identify which lymph nodes contain cancer, helping doctors better stage the disease before operating.
