New diabetes could signal hidden cancer: major study hunts for early clues

NCT ID NCT04662879

Summary

This study is testing a new method to find pancreatic cancer sooner. It focuses on adults aged 50-85 who have recently developed high blood sugar or diabetes, as this can sometimes be an early sign of the cancer. The research uses a computer model to identify which of these patients are at higher risk and then offers them imaging scans to look for cancer earlier than usual.
