Double-Dose chemo attack on pancreatic cancer shows promise

NCT ID NCT02047474

Summary

This study tested a powerful four-drug chemotherapy regimen given both before and after surgery for patients with pancreatic cancer that had not spread. The goal was to shrink the tumor before surgery to make it easier to remove, and then kill any remaining cancer cells after surgery to help prevent the cancer from coming back. It involved 46 patients and was designed to see if this approach could help patients live longer without their cancer progressing.
