Breakthrough blood test trial aims to catch deadly pancreatic cancer early in High-Risk group

Summary

This study is testing a new blood test called Avantect to see if it can find pancreatic cancer early in people who were recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, as they have a higher risk. About 15,000 participants will be randomly assigned to either get the test now or later, and those with a positive result will be offered a scan. The main goal is to see if using this test leads to more cancers being found at a stage where surgery is still possible.
