Videos aim to give a voice to the elderly and dementia patients in critical care decisions
NCT ID NCT04857060
Summary
This study tested whether specially trained educators using video guides could help older adults and people with dementia plan their future medical wishes while in the hospital. It involved over 11,000 patients and their caregivers at two major hospitals. The goal was to see if this approach improved communication, documented patients' preferences, and helped caregivers feel more confident and informed.
