Hospital alerts aim to get comfort care to patients faster
NCT ID NCT06596577
Summary
This large study is testing whether electronic alerts in hospital computer systems can help connect more seriously ill patients with palliative care specialists. The alerts will prompt doctors to consider ordering a comfort care consultation for eligible patients. Researchers will see if this system leads to more patients receiving this supportive care during their hospital stay.
