Summary
This study tested whether a custom-made acrylic palatal stent (like a mouth guard) can reduce pain and bleeding after gum graft surgery. 44 adults who needed a gum graft from the roof of their mouth either received the stent or no stent. The main goal was to see if the stent lowered pain and other side effects during healing.
