First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests PainTrain AI, a digital simulation where health professionals practice talking with virtual patients about chronic pain. The goal is to see if the platform is easy to use and helps reduce common misconceptions about pain. Forty doctors, nurses, and therapists will try it out in primary care and specialized settings. The study does not involve real patient data or provide clinical advice.

Active substance
PainTrain AI digital clinical simulation (behavioral training intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a scalable, evidence-based training tool to improve how health professionals understand and manage chronic pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot (40 participants) focused on feasibility, not on patient outcomes. It may not show meaningful changes in clinical practice or pain management.
