Nurse-Led painless endoscopy proves safe in massive study
NCT ID NCT06712264
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to perform painless digestive endoscopy, where specially trained anesthesia nurses lead the sedation process under the guidance of an anesthesiologist. Over 18,000 adults took part to see if this approach is as safe and effective as having an anesthesiologist do it alone. The goal is to make these procedures more efficient while keeping patients comfortable and safe.
