New combo may keep kids pain-free longer after appendix surgery

Summary

This study looks at whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) can give longer and better pain relief for children after open appendix surgery. About 60 children will take part. The goal is to see if the combination reduces pain, helps kids recover more smoothly, and is safe.
