New pain block may reduce opioid use after gynecologic surgery

Summary

This study tested a nerve block using a long-lasting numbing medicine for pain after gynecologic cancer surgery. Thirty adults received the block and were compared to similar patients who had a different pain method. The goal was to see if the nerve block could lower the need for strong painkillers and reduce side effects.
