First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested two types of nerve blocks to control pain after chest surgery. 180 adults having lung surgery were randomly given either a standard paravertebral block or a newer mid-point block. The goal was to see if the newer block could provide similar pain relief and reduce the need for strong painkillers like fentanyl.
