New shot aims to ease pain and cut opioid use after ankle surgery

NCT ID NCT07212114

Summary

This study is testing a long-acting numbing medicine (EXPAREL) to see if it provides better pain relief after ankle replacement surgery compared to a standard numbing medicine. Researchers will measure how much pain people feel and how many opioid painkillers they need after their operation. The goal is to find a way to manage post-surgery pain more effectively and reduce the need for strong pain medications.
