First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special nerve block (erector spinae plane block) can lower the need for strong painkillers after open abdominal surgery. About 46 adults having surgery under general anesthesia will be randomly assigned to get the block or not. The goal is to see if the block helps control pain and reduces opioid use.
