New combo may ease Post-Surgery pain better than standard drug
NCT ID NCT07285083
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to manage pain after abdominal surgery: a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) alone versus the same medicine plus a sedative (dexmedetomidine). About 80 adults having elective belly surgery will receive one of these two options via a nerve block. Researchers will measure pain levels and side effects over 12 hours to see if the combination provides better relief without extra risks.
