Whiff of relief? study tests 'Green Whistle' gas for Men's health procedures

NCT ID NCT07192198

Summary

This study tested whether inhaling a pain-relief medication called Penthrox (methoxyflurane) could help men better tolerate minor scrotal or urologic procedures done with local anesthetic. Forty men were randomly assigned to receive either the standard local anesthetic alone or the local anesthetic plus the inhaled Penthrox gas. The goal was to see if the added Penthrox improved patients' pain and anxiety levels during and after their procedures.
